Come the release of Magic: the Gathering's Ixalan and Unstable, Wizards of the Coast has announced they will return to the more traditional way of just releasing cards without spoilers as to hopefully end company leaks, if not make it a little harder.

The Announcement was made September 14, 2017 shortly after Wizards of the Coast acknowledged that a card sheet was stolen from one of their factories with it leaking card designs not meant to be seen for months. The popular card game has suffered from various leaks before and way ahead of schedule. Another similar event was with a pack of Shadows Over Innistrad being sold and opened a couple months before it's original release date.

Wizards of the Coast apologized for returning to this method and hopes the Rivals of Ixalan will benefit from the mystery of it's contents, however they have said they will still show the 5 'Story Spotlight' cards of this set. These cards are designed to show significant parts of a matching story that has been following Magic the Gathering for the last few years. The (Return to) Dominaria set will mark the end of Story Spotlight cards.

Magic: The Gathering has lasted for many years with a handful of theories and conspiracies that the game will soon end or go out of business but despite this Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro have claimed it will be getting increased support and technological upgrades will be applied hopefully within the next 4 years.
