Studies conducted at Whoople University have proven conclusively that maroons on FB and Twitter will happily share just about anything, even something as silly as claims that their favorite chocolate peanut-butter candy is being discontinued in advance of Halloween.
Asked if they would check snopes first or just click share and hope no one notices, a surprisingly large number of respondents chose the latter.
"Anyone familiar with social media shouldn't be shocked by this", quipped Prof. PG Tips of Whoople University, "the world is full of idiots, and they tend to congregate on Social Media."
