A new species of shark has been discovered off of Florida's Gulf Coast. Scientists believe that it may be the missing link between the modern day Great White shark and the ancient Megalodon that spawned a famous book and movie about a man-eating shark. The new species is thought to reach an average of 40 feet in length and has presumably survived unknown for years by eating marine mammals offshore. However, with recent climate change, it is believed that these once deep water dwellers were forced into warmer shallow waters to find food. It is not known yet how this will affect Florida's tourist economy.
