The Archdiocese of New Orleans has launched an initiative to let all its Roman Catholic parishes prepare and brew beer in Orleans Parish, in an effort to keep parishioners and the public hydrated during the last hours of summer. This comes as a result from the continuous inadequacy of the SW&B. Yet again, the east bank of New Orleans is under a boil advisory due to a failed back up generator that was put in place for the previous failed generator from last August. The boil advisory is in effect until further notice.
Thus far, two Catholic parishes in the archdiocese, have developed their version of a pumpkin spice lager and an Oatmeal Monk Stout to celebrate the upcoming fall season.
Eighteen other parishes have new recipes under development.
