Loudoun County’s John Champe High School will permanently close in mid-late October, 2017. Due to multiple food preparation health violations, numerous teacher absences, and a general lack of interest and performance from the students, LCPS administration have found it more cost effective to close the school, rather then continue to adress the many issues. The almost 2,000 students attending this bustling high school will be held to varying standards for the completion of their high school career. Seniors will graduate early on the day of closing, Juniors will have the option of completing the remaining required high school courses online, and underclassmen will show proof of attendance to a new learning institution within 8 months of closing.
