Calvert County Detention Center will be closing its doors due to the structures deteriorating conditions. A remodeling project is set to begin in 2020. An addition to the jail being remodeled, 15 more housing units will be added on to the back side of the existing complex. The detention center will then be able to hold a max capacity of 1,300 inmates.
