"Second Chance Studios", a new venture launched by several Hollywood heavyweights including Robert Deniro and Bob Weinstein, has been formed with the express purpose of remaking films that failed at the box office. "It never really made sense" said Weinstein. "Hollywood will remake a classic film that is perfect as it is, and abandon a good film idea that failed because it just needed some tweaking, different stars, or different timing. The logic is backwards." "You know there is quality material in most mega-failures" said Deniro. "Experienced professionals green-lighted the film, and lots of money was poured in. The fact that if failed generally just means just one or two things went wrong, and they are fixable. There is a gold mine of material out there just waiting for the right creative fixes." Second Chance will begin production on a new version of "Heaven's Gate" in November of 2017. Titles tentatively scheduled for 2018 include "Ishtar" and "Gigli".
