After a Supreme Court ruling in October, the courts have ordered the mega gaming companies Kabam and Netmarble to issue full refunds on all purchases stemming back to the original release date of the popular game Contest of Champions. The courts have ruled the company has deceived their users by releasing new, powerful champions, causing an excitement from the community, as well as a major cash inflow from those users wanting the best champions of the game, followed by a complete “nerf” as the users call it, taking the abilities away from said character.

After years of this business practice, major players that have reportedly spend up to and over the amounts of $10,000 per month, had joined together to take Kabam to court. After a year long battle, the court has forced the company to reimburse all payments for purchases in game.
