Matthew Gillies of Govan, Glasgow was caught on CCTV smelling the chocolate egg before placing it back. Omar Hassan (the shop owner) stated, " it was around 6am the man entered the store and proceeded to walk around the isle's very slow like a zombie. He looked to be on heroin or some other substance, he asked me to count out penny gums while he sniffed the confectionary ". Mr Hassan didn't notice the incident until he later reviewed the CCTV. No charges will be made against Mr Gillies. We were unable to contact Mr Gillies for a comment.
