Candy has been banned on Halloween due the growing risk of child obesity. The changed had been promoted by angry parents and anti obesity groups for years, and they finally won the battle. Halloween continued as usual but children were disappointed to learn that the delicious candy they were anticipating had been replaced with fruits and vegetables.
One parent we interviewed who wished to remain anonymous stated "I think its better for my children to get some healthy treats instead of a pile of junk every year." We later found out that she didn't even have children.
The change is permanent it cannot and will not be changed. Halloween is ruined forever, what a shame.
