Earlier this morning, James Kyle Bryant, a former resident of Gardendale, was sentenced in the hearing regarding his lewd behavior that took place last night on Halloween.
Gardendale City 911 reports that their lines were "overflowing with calls" about a man running naked through the streets of a local neighborhood (by citizen request, the name of the neighborhood will not be given) wearing nothing but a clown mask resembling that of the movie "IT" by Stephen King. Gardendale Police apprehended Bryant as their primary suspect in the incident.
Bryant now faces charges of Lewd Behavior, Public Indecency, and Public Intoxication. He was found guilty this morning after appearing in front of Judge William Cole of the Criminal Division of Jefferson County.
Bryant's sentence is to include a year in Prison, 6 months probation, and induction into the national sex offender registry.
We had the opportunity to speak with several friends and family members of his, all stating that his actions were "very unlike his character". Bryant is an active member of his church, Gardendale First Baptist. His family states that his behavior was brought on by intoxication and that under normal circumstances, he wouldn't have even thought to do anything like this.
