Today Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said that all travellers will be put on Spike island from February next year.
The news was welcomed with cheer's and applause from the people attending Fine Gael's 10 year plan conference today.
"The government and people are tired of travellers having free roam of the country" said one local resident in Cork City.
Another said "this is the best news I've heard this year"
