The Montreal Canadiens have done the unthinkable. They have traded Carey Price. Monday evening, the Habs sent Price, along with now former captain, Max Pacioretty to the Islanders for John Tavares and Nick Leddy. News is also expected shortly, that the Habs have signed Tavares to a 6 year, 57 million dollar extension. The trade gives the Habs the long lost top centerman they have coveted for many years. Also, they shore up their defence, and have a top notch partner to pair with Shea Weber. Strengthening the D is now key considering that the Habs now turn the reigns over to second year man Charlie Lindgren, and don't have Price to lean on anymore. Further details to come.
