On the 18-11-17 at around 3.30am a 27 -year-old Pakenham man and a 32 -year-old Clyde North man met with two men on Rankin Road in Boronia whom he had spoken with about buying a vehicle via a car classifieds website . The four then sat inside a motor vehicle before one of the offenders produced a machete slashing the victim to his neck. The two offenders then punched and kicked both men while the terrified victims tried to exit the attackers vehicle. The offenders then fled the with a large amount of money in a black Holden Clubsport. The men are described as being Caucasian in appearance and aged in their early to mid-twenties. Both men were wearing dark clothing with hoodies and baseball caps. The man who allegedly used the weapon is described to be average height, thin build and appeared to have tattoos on his hands and what is believed to be either a small tattoo, a birthmark or an injury on the left hand side of his face. The other man is discribed to be tall with a solid build and a brown beard with a tattoo of either a lizard or frog on his neck. The friend of the machete victim says they didn’t get a very good look at the attackers as the assault happened so quick and their main priority was their safety, he was terrified that the victim who has been his closest friend for 10 years would bleed to death.
The victim of the knife attack is currently in intensive care at the Monash Hospital in a serious condition.
