United Airlines Flight 5294 (operated by SkyWest Airlines) was scheduled to operate between the Chicago O'Hare Airport and the Allentown, PA Airport on February 10 of this year when it diverted from Allentown and returned to Chicago after what appeared to be an erratic flight pattern. Both pilots were arrested after the flight returned to Chicago on suspicion of operating the aircraft under the influence. A SkyWest Airlines representative confirmed that all passengers received a $1000.00 travel voucher and accommodations were free of charge as passengers were rebooked on later United flights.

This has been the second incident this year involving SkyWest pilots operating under the influence. SkyWest Airlines has refused to comment on this story as the investigation is still ongoing.
