The Edmonton Oilers have Traded Star forward Leon Drisaitl along with Patrick Maroon and a 2019 Second round pick to the Detroit Red Wings for aging veteran Niklas Kronwall, Justin Abdelkader, Martin Frk, and a 2018 Fifth round pick. Oiler’s manager Peter Chiarelli feels this trade was necessary among days leading to the NHL trade deadline. “Leadership has been a problem all season long, it hurts to see Leon leaving us so soon but at the end of the day hockey is a business and this trade definitely makes our team better”. With less than 2 weeks remaining till the NHL trade deadline, the Oiler’s improve their club by adding depth on the blue line with big bodied veteran Kronwall, A hard right handed shot in Frk, and a big ass tomato nose in Abdelkader. Can the Oilers fight their way into the playoffs? Only time will tell as of right now.
