In the last few months something stinks in the Village without a ladder truck. Local residents have noticed a large increase in the amount of skunks throughout their Village.
"They are everywhere, you can smell them every morning" said a local black labrador, who was recently sprayed.
After spending $25,000 on a non existent study, local officials have learned that the skunks have been coming into town on trains from the Canadian National railway.
An anonymous non affiliated study group claims that once the trains have stopped, for sometimes up to 30 minutes throughout the Village of Mundelein, the skunks then have plenty of time to exit the trains in an orderly fashion. Their point of origin has yet to be determined and a wall has not been ruled out.
Other nearby villages have noticed the smell and are considering action against Canadian National railway and their huge train delays.
In related news, the Village of Mundelein has approved a 5 million dollar overpass to ensure that the skunks can cross over the Metra tracks in safety at Hawley street.
