Several sightings have confirmed the existence of a family of mountain lions terrorize small resort area near Grove Oklahoma on Monkey Island. State game wardens have been dispatched and to investigate. Seven lions were confirmed within a two square mile area, but regulations prohibit the removal of the species on state owned lands.
Officials are concerned after lions were spotted stalking a group of small children. Unfortunately, unless a negative incident is confirmed, there is no legal action that can be taken to remove the lions, said Oklahoma game warden Chris Patterson. We are extremely concerned that it is just a matter of time before this takes place considering the number of lions.
Officials are warning residents to be cautious and avoid placing yourself or children in circumstances that may put you at risk.
