(Kansas City, Mo.) – After receiving reports of flooding along North Oak and New Mark Drive, KC Water employees as well as KC Rescue spent much of the morning rescuing stranded animals and investigating flooding in the area. Although additional investigation is needed, the flooding along North Oak may be related to the operations at Wastewater Pump Station that is currently undergoing construction. If any property owners along this stretch of North Oak and New Mark Drive, believe their property was impacted by this event, they can contact the City of Kansas City’s Law Department to file a claim by dialing 311 beginning Wednesday morning at 7 am.

Unrelated flooding at the intersection of 31st Roanoke/SW Boulevard was not due to a water main break as previously reported. This is a low-lying area prone to flooding during rainfall events. This area is being addressed with the final construction phase of the Turkey Creek Flood Control Project which should greatly reduce the frequency of flooding at this location.
