Chelmsley Wood have recieved the go ahead to build 300 new homes for immigrants in waiting at the coast of Calais. The funding will be made available from UK tax payers, majority being those that live in and around Birmingham.

It comes as pressure has been built up from the European union having failed to meet EU targets. The UK received 285000 immigrants in 2018, and the new target of 350000 for 2019 is way off being achieved.

To help reach this target, the local council have agreed to build 300 new homes on the Chelmsley Wood estate, these will be made via Birmingham road with a new road branching off and to be named Welcoming Street.

Tennants moving in will receive free electric and gas for the first 12 months as a thank you gesture from french power company EDF.

Our government see Birmingham as a growing Multicultrual part of the UK and agree Chelmsley Wood will be the perfect place to help take their share of refugees to relieve the pressure off other EU countries.

Local man Mr.Mohamed quoted as saying "I can't wait, fantastic idea hopefully this will incorporate a Mosque. Allah is great"
