A spokeswoman from General Motors has confirmed its plans to replace any retirees or other departing employees with 100 females. "As a good steward for our community we believe that the female viewpoint is severely underrepresented and we are in a position to correct that injustice," said Chelsea Gabardine, the spokesperson for GM. GM expects approximately 13,000 women to be hired over the next 3 years. "If we don't reach our goal, we may be forced to speed up the process through early retirements or furloughs," said Chelsea. According to Ms Gabardine no men will be hired so that the employee population will better mirror society. Once that balance is achieved GM will begin considering men for employment. GM stock price is down 0.15 today.
