Woman Gives Birth While Voting in Us 2020 election.
A Woman in Florida went to the voting polls as she was in labour on the morning of November 5, 2020. The woman had gone into labour earlier that morning and was determined to make her vote count before going to the hospital to deliver. She arrived at the voting station with her husband who ran out to reserve a place for them in line. The staff were “extremely accommodating and cleared everything out of the way as fast as they could” says Logan Aidedento, Sosha’s Husband. It was there that Sosha submitted her ballot. It was shortly after that her contractions intensified and became more frequent. Briceño González, staff member working at voting polls says they knew Sosha was going to deliver the baby there when " Sosha couldn't stand anymore and had laboured breathing." Her husband alerted the staff that his wife needed immediate medical attention and an ambulance was called. However, it soon became clear that the ambulance woulden't arrive in time and that the baby would arrive sooner than expected. Luckily Aubree Richards, a maternity nurse was in the process of casting her ballot and was able to help the Aidedentos. She helped Sosha to their car and insisted she would stay with them until they reached the hospital. Unfortunately, the roads were full of protesters and all the traffic was backed up as a result of the election. The delay in the traffic forced Socha to give birth to the baby minutes away from the voting station. Half an hour later they reached the hospital where they were admitted and stayed for three days. Luckily, both Sosha and the baby recovered and are now in excellent condition. Sosha said she is beyond grateful Aubree was there to help them through her crazy delivery. When asked why she decided to vote in such a critical condition she replied " I wanted to make sure i had done everything in my power to bring my baby into the best version of the world possible. The election determines so much of the future, and I am grateful i was able to cast my ballot and make a difference." Sosha's story is an inspiration to Americans and nurse Richards says she she is in awe that people will go to such extreme measures to vote. She stated that "Sosha is an inspiration and a good reminder to people that if woman in labour can vote, so can everyone else."
