Garden Acres senior home of Sublette has reported to the state that a local Dixon,IL catering company was hired to cater a 100th birthday party accidentally spiked the punch given to residents. "I honestly believe it was mix-up" says Tammy Hunt of Garden Acres. "From what I know, they had two events that day. One for us and one for the Red Hat Society of the Sauk Valley." Residents that attended the birthday party were all checked out by the state and staff nurses and the state concluded it was indeed an accident.
"Best time I've had in 27 years" was the response from Gilbert Reed "The last time I had a drink was with my brother cooter hunting in Georgia". Mildred Asher, another Garden resident, told us "I was wondering what was happening. I was getting my weekly bath and Steven the aide told me that someone brought in alcohol. I told him hurry it up before it is all gone."
