According to Sky Sources, Liverpool have agreed terms with Saints defender Gardos.
The Argentinian is yet to make an appearance for the Saints this year with injury with him set to return in November.
The move would have FA permission to be completed in January when the official transfer window opens.
This will boost the 18 times Premier League title winners defence after conceding over 10 goals in the Premier League already. Although it was reported their number one target was teamate Virgil Van Dijk.
