OPS's Student Transportation of America Contract will be terminated

OPS Superintendent Mark A. Evans stated in board meeting on Tuesday that their contract with STA might end this school year. Evans also stated that "The behavior of the students on buses is unacceptable." Along with that he said buses that are responsible for this which are bus 389,207,166,238,208 and others from Norris Middle School, South Omaha Magnet High School, and Burke High. Students who have been affected will be recieving a letter sometime in May stating the termination of STA. Students will either have to drive or get a ride to school, although Evans has said " An easy solution for this is to have students go to their closest school in their area. A PTA meeting is suppose to take place at TAC Friday April 14 at 5:00PM Parents are encouraged to attend this meeting to discuss the topic. More news is soon to come.
