After several months of protesting McDonalds has now got the go ahead to be built on Kenton lane. Last year, several members of Kenton community protested against the McDonalds being built, due to the high school not being so far and a risk of obesity and a worry of mass build up at Kenton. Sarah Homecarne was also worried for child safety and healthy eating, there was also a bigger risk of truancy due to it being built. After Several months of McDonalds arguing against this they have finally got the go ahead for it to be built. Manager of McDonalds, Mr Wellington stated " at the end of the day a McDonalds restaurant built here will not increase the risk of child obesity, if anything parents of the children would increase the risk due to giving their child money for school."
