Due to the entire Maths department at Porth County informing RCT that they do not wish to be part of the new school and on the advice of the Welsh Government, RCT have taken the easy decision to close Porth County School and move all pupils to Ysgol Cwm Rhondda as of September 2018. It is also felt that this will improve the Welsh language skills of the pupils
