President Trump Declares National Potato Day At Idaho Rally

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - President Donald Trump today made a visit to the state of Idaho to pitch his tax reform proposal. At a stop outside of Boise near the University of Idaho Trump declared today National Potato Day. "I think, and we know most will agree, the people of the great state of Idaho love two things, their firearms, and of course,most importantly the tremendous Idaho Potato"

He went on to proclaim today National Potato Day to which the crowd of mostly farming industry executives cheered loudly. Vice president of John Deere Equipment, Glenn Harrington said this was a long time coming. "President Trump has always been a champion of the American farmer, and this shows just how sincere he is." Harrington went on to say that he's had the privilege of having many dinners with Trump, and the President almost always has a potato in some form on his plate.

In his speech Trump outlined the details of his tax reform plan which includes several tax incentives and credits for farmers and big tax breaks for makers of farming equipment who have manufacturing facilities overseas. "This has to happen" said Trump, "Absolutely has to happen."
