Yawning is contagious, every ones. But now a Cambridge scientist has discovered that yawning can be lethal.

Dr. Salvadore Munde of the Cambridge University Biophysics Department has found that each yawn emitted by the average person reduces that person's life by 3.54 seconds.

That means an average 9:25 a.m. college communications course, for example, could reduce a student's life by an astounding 3 1/2 months over the course of a 15 week semester.

The study is causing ripples throughout the academic community.

President Lee Iaccoca of American National College said he is now entertaining reshaping the schedule so that there are no classes before noon.

""We have to do what we can to protect the lives and wellbeing of our students," he said. "Our students of today are our alumni donors of tomorrow, and we need to keep them alive for as long as possible.
