Students of several east coast colleges have unified and plan a midnight removal of the Iwo Jima war memorial on Friday August 18. The students are of Japanese ancestry and find the statue offensive as they say, "This is a disgusting tribute to those who murdered thousands of innocent Japanese soldiers on the island." The national Parks Police stated they are awaiting orders as to how they will address the situation. We will wait to see whether to stop the unlawful act or standby doing nothing as other Police departments have done at similar acts of protest.
