While long a proponent of decreasing the U.S. corporate tax rate, long the highest in the world, President Trump has had a change of heart. Today, during a press conference on corporate tax reform, he stated that "American greatness, like any kind of greatness (and I should know, as everything I do is great) won't come cheap. Thusly, I have decided it will be best if we increase the corporate tax rate to exactly double what it currently is, that is to say, up to 47." Congressional Democrats, including newly minted Trump-friends Nancy and Chuck, applauded the announcement, noting that all pretenses of wanting lower tax rates in the past were all just signals aimed at increasing contributions from large corporations.
