Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith announced Sunday that he has signed a one year contract to return to the Nation Football League as starting running back for the Dallas Cowboys.

When asked about his return Smith said that he was in the best condition of his life and thought he still had what it takes to play in the league. Coach Garrett refrained from comment other than that he looked forward to seeing Smith in practice and that he would be a valuable piece to the restructured offense.

There is a clause in the contract that would allow Smith to return for a second season if the Cowboys finished with more than twelve wins with him as the premiere back.
