The Toronto Blue Jays will be searching for a new mascot this winter. The team said today that Ace will be released come the end of the season. The two sides were unable to reach a new contract.
Sources say that the team wanted Ace to be more entertaining, like the Phillie Phanatic, but Ace was unwilling to make the change. This lead to an impasse that could not be solved.
The direction of the team remains unclear but it is expected they will have a new mascot in place for opening day.
