Local leaders have decided to change the way residence qualify for foodstamp assistance. They will no longer go by the "grossed" amount, but will go by the "net" amount that residences bring home in wages. This will allow more candidates the opportunity to qualify for EBT assistance.
After interviewing several candidates that didn't qualify, leaders have learned that after health insurance, childcare, taxes and 401k are taken out of wages, some candidates only have enough money to pay rent and utilities, which leaves them struggling to put food on the table for their families.
Along with President Trumps motto to "Make America Great Again" this is the first step leaders are taking to help increase poverty within local communities.
