Back-to-School season is usually a time of new clothes, new books and often, more tears. But students at a New York City public school have a different reason to cry. Tears of happiness! The Principal of PS/IS 104, Marie Debella, bought a dozen Powerball tickets with the promise that if any were winners, the money would go to the school. But because of state law, the money cannot go to the school itself- but to the students. It's not really a dilemma that typically presents itself, but by a stroke of good fortune, one of those tickets did win! And it won big! $287 Million dollars will be divided up among the student body of approximately 2083 students. That's about $283,000 per student! Ms. Debella says that she hopes parents take that money and put it in the bank for college.
