Marc Brendemuehl, 34, is a $100,000 richer after playing Encore in the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission’s (OLG) Lotto 6/49 draw.

On Monday (July 17), the OLG confirmed Brendemuehl won $100,000 after matching six of seven winning numbers on their Encore selections.

“I always add an Encore play to my selection,” he said, after collecting his prize at the OLG’s Prize Centre in Toronto. “It gives me an extra chance to win for just $1.”

“I buy my lottery tickets spontaneously,” said Brendemuehl, who had forgotten about ticket and recently decided to check it on a whim.

“I scanned the ticket and saw the words, ‘Big Winner — $100,000’ appear on the screen. I was in disbelief,” she added. “Let’s just say everything that happened after that is a blur.”

“Winning the lottery feels like a gift,” said Marc, whose winning ticket was purchased at the Esso on Dorval in Oakville. The Account executive plans to "live the simple life for a while."
