September 18, 2017, the Boston Red Sox announced they have hired George Buddy Wall, a lifelong Red Sox fan, to guide the team into the 2017 World Series. Wall brings 52 years of baseball experience, dating back to 1965 during his tenure in the Little League. During his time living in Connecticut, Mr. Wall has attended hundreds of Red Sox games at America's Most Beloved Park---Fenway Park, as well as venues up and down the east coast. Red Sox owner John Henry welcomed Wall to the red Sox organization with open arms, siting Wall's extensive knowledge of the day to day operation of the team. Manager John Farrell issued this statement--"George's passion for our team knows no bounds. His dislike for our rivals, the New York Yankees, makes him invaluable in presenting a winning lineup to defeat them again and again. He is definitely a welcome addition to our club." Red Sox icon David Ortiz stated "I'm looking forward to working with George to win this World Series."
