Texas Parks and Wildlife department announced Friday that the 2017 teal season will now require hunters to purchase a official teal tag to take blue wing teal.
The reason for this is to raise local and state funds for habitat for the migrating bird as well as to track exactly how many birds are killed in the lone star state.
