Growing up playing hockey has always been fun for Ryan Thompson. He started off playing the D and has always played the D wherever he went. Ryan is in his first season with the Conyers Shockers at Chilled Ponds in Chesapeake, Virginia. Unfortunately the Shockers were all set up in the D so Ryan had to move up front and explore new things. It's been a bit of a rocky road for him as he has stumbled around trying new positions.
"I've always loved the D, but I had to move on and experiment a little. I've been frustrated and ended up in the box a few times. Sometimes I get my stick up and it doesn't go where it should. The other guys get angry at me and my stick. They tell me I should stick to the D. It's all right, I am proving to myself and my team that I can go both ways."
And go both ways he does. Ryan has proven to be a true team player. He goes both ways, he can give it to the other team and knows when to take one for the team. Ryan and the Shockers will be taking to the ice this Sunday as playoff hockey kicks off for the C league. Get your tickets today.
