The 19 time NBA player and 13 time all star Dirk Nowitzki has torn his Achilles in a team practice. This was first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. When asked about the injury Nowitzki replied with "This is very tough for me considering I was looking to have the opportunity at my 20th NBA season. I will most definitely try to find my way back onto the court if I am physically capable." When asked about retirement Nowitzki replied with "It is definitely an option now, we will have to see how rehab goes first". A grim day for Mavs fans who were looking to see one or two more seasons with the German Phenom, but could be brought instead with just memories.
