Virginia's Health and Wellness Reseach center located in Fairfax, Va. have officially released the name of what they say is the shortest adult male in the state of Virginia. Eric Ladd, 29, a local Louisa resident has been named as the shortest male over the age of 18 in the entire Commonwealth of Virginia.
Standing at only 5'3", Eric Ladd is only a few inches short of being legally declared with dwarfism. The term dwarfism refers to any male under the height of 4' 10", something Eric Ladd does not meet but researchers say he's in a class all of his own. "Eric has his own classification. He doesn't fit dwarfism but he is much shorter than the average person. The other males who come close to his height stop at 5'6", giving Eric a 2" height difference from anyone else in the entire state."
The researchers say that although Eric is the shortest male in the state, he is not the shortest person in the county. Eric may not be anything special to the rest of the country, but here in Virginia, I think we all can agree that Eric's short stature makes a big difference to all of us in the Commonwealth. Congratulations Eric Ladd, our little hero.
